Description
An art exhibit by Nora Hagen.
Nora is a recent resident of Cochrane, having moved here two and a half years ago from Calgary. She is originally from Egypt, having immigrated to Canada with her family when she was nine years old.
She started painting watercolors in 2005, when she started taking a class. She loves being out in nature, and she loves color. One thing she loves about watercolors is how beautiful phenomena are created by themselves as the paint moves on the wet paper and combines with other colors. One can sit back with expectancy and see what happens with tipping the wet paper once the paint is dropped in. She also loves the transparency of watercolors.
She loves using a combination of soft edges, where there is no line as the paint is going into wet paper, and hard edges, which are lines made by paint on dry paper. It is fun to use a variety of techniques to create different effects.
Nora is married, with three grown children.
She works as a GP Psychotherapist here in town.
Proceeds from sale of artwork will be donated to an organization called Results Canada. This grassroots organization targets the poorest of the poor on our planet, those living under $1.25 per day. By using advocacy for better funding for programs that have been shown to be effective, such as microcredit, vaccination, and education, donations are powerfully leveraged to help millions. Results Canada has been successful in numerous huge achievements on behalf of the very poor.
